Introduction
FamilyHub is committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of your family. This policy explains how information is collected, used, disclosed and safeguarded when you use the FamilyHub mobile app. The policy was last updated on February 9, 2026.
Information we collect
Information you give us when you register, create a family profile or use the app's features:
- Account information: name, email address and password (encrypted)
- Family information: family member names, ages and roles (parent, child, guardian)
- Profile information: profile photos, member colors and preferences
- Content: tasks, events, notes, messages, photos and other content you create
Information collected automatically:
- Device information: device type, operating system and unique device identifiers
- Usage data: features used, actions taken and time spent in the app
- Location data: approximate location, only if you enable the Family Locator feature
- Log data: IP address, access times and error logs
Information from third parties: authentication providers if you sign in with Apple or Google, and RevenueCat for subscription management. FamilyHub does not store credit card data.
How we use your information
- Provide the service: create and manage your family account, enable the family features, synchronize data across your family's devices, send notifications and reminders, and process subscription payments
- Improve the app: analyze usage patterns, find and fix bugs, and develop new features
- Communicate with you: service updates, replies to support requests, notices about changes to terms or policies, and promotional messages you can opt out of
- Keep the service safe: prevent fraud and abuse, enforce the terms, comply with legal obligations and protect users' rights and safety
How we share your information
FamilyHub does not sell your personal information to third parties. Information is shared only in these circumstances:
- Within your family: family members see shared content, and parents can view their children's task completion and progress
- Service providers: Supabase (database and authentication), Firebase (push notifications and analytics), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Google AI (the AI assistant, only when you use it) and Sentry (anonymized error tracking), all contractually obligated to keep information secure and confidential
- Legal requirements: court orders, government requests, protection of rights, property or safety, and emergencies involving danger to persons
- Business transfers: if FamilyHub is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, you will be notified before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different policy
Data security
FamilyHub describes these measures, and notes that no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure:
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest (AES-256)
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt
- Database access is restricted per family with row-level security
- Documents in the vault are encrypted with additional protection
- Limited employee access to personal data, regular security audits and updates, incident response procedures, and data backup and recovery systems
Your privacy rights
Depending on your location you may have these rights:
- Access and portability: request a copy of your personal information and export your family data in a portable format
- Correction: update your profile in the app settings and correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: delete specific content, or request account deletion, which removes your family data within 30 days (some information may be retained for legal or legitimate business purposes)
- Opt-out: unsubscribe from promotional emails, disable push notifications in device settings and turn off location sharing for Family Locator
- Restrictions: request restrictions on how your data is processed and object to certain types of processing
To exercise these rights, contact [email protected].
Children's privacy
- Parents must create accounts for children under 13, and can review, manage and delete their children's information at any time
- FamilyHub collects minimal information from child accounts and shares children's data only within the family
- No targeted advertising to children and no selling of children's information
- FamilyHub states that it complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar international laws
Data retention
- Active accounts: data is retained while the account exists
- Deleted accounts: most data is deleted within 30 days
- Some data may be retained longer for legal compliance
- Data in backups is deleted according to the backup retention schedule
International data transfers and regional rights
Information may be processed in countries other than your own. FamilyHub names these safeguards: Standard Contractual Clauses with service providers, adequate data protection laws in destination countries, and your consent where the law requires it.
- California residents (CCPA): the right to know what is collected, to delete personal information, to opt out of sale (FamilyHub does not sell information) and to non-discrimination
- EU residents (GDPR): the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
Cookies and tracking
The app uses minimal tracking technologies: session management to keep you logged in, anonymized analytics and anonymized crash reporting. FamilyHub states that it does not use advertising cookies or pixels, cross-site tracking or third-party advertising networks.
Changes to this policy
FamilyHub may update the policy from time to time. You are notified by posting the new policy in the app, updating the Last Updated date, sending an email for significant changes and requesting consent where the law requires it.
